These bears are in the rut and are concentrated on the south slopes where the vegetation greens up first after the snow melts. Hunting style is spot and stalk, using 4x4 trucks for access.
Hunts are guided either 2 on 1, or 1 on 1. Hunt dates are from early May to mid June and due to the abundance of black bears in our area, the bag limit is 2 bears per hunter with most hunters harvesting a 6 foot or better bear.
